HBL is designed to nurture self-directed, resilient learners through flexible routines that empower students to take ownership of their learning.

NV HBL - Features

The school follows a flexible schedule rather than fixed fortnightly cycles; students follow the subjects on their timetable for that day.
Students learn asynchronously at their own pace to develop independent time-management skills.
Lessons combine on-screen digital tasks with off-screen work.
All lesson instructions are communicated through the SLS Planner.

Note

HBL days are scheduled to support national examinations and school activities.
Students may be required to return to school on HBL days to attend CCA sessions or other scheduled school activities.
Prior to receiving their Personal Learning Devices (PLDs), Secondary 1 students will be assigned off-screen learning tasks to complete on HBL days.

NV SIL - Student-Initiated Learning

SIL is an integral part of HBL. To keep learning meaningful while managing student workload, each level focuses on a targeted, purposeful experience.
