NV70 Speech & Prize Giving Day (24 April 2026)
North Vista Secondary School marked a significant milestone with its 70th Anniversary Speech and Prize Giving Day, a day filled with pride, reflection, and celebration of the school’s enduring legacy.
A highlight of the event was a series of three thoughtfully curated video montages that traced the school’s journey from its early beginnings to its present-day achievements. These montages not only showcased key moments in the school’s history but also featured heartfelt well-wishes from alumni, offering current Vistarians a meaningful connection to those who once walked the same corridors. The presence of former principals, staff, and alumni added a special touch to the occasion, many of whom were visibly moved as the videos brought back cherished memories. For students and parents alike, it was a rare and valuable glimpse into the rich heritage of the school.
The celebration was further enlivened by captivating performances from our students from Chinese Dance and Choir, reflecting the vibrant culture and talent within the NV community.
In recognition of dedication and commitment, awards were presented to students for their achievements, as well as to staff who have served the school for five years and beyond. These moments of recognition underscored the collective effort that continues to shape the school’s success.
Mr Jonathan Tan, our Principal delivered an inspiring address, charting North Vista’s journey over the decades and celebrating the milestones and accomplishments that define the school today. The audience was also privileged to hear from Guest-of-Honour, Dr Leong, who shared an encouraging message on the importance of dreams and the perseverance needed to achieve them.
Despite heavy showers throughout the evening, the spirit of the celebration remained undampened. Instead, the rain seemed to add to the atmospher bringing the community closer together in appreciation of shared memories, cultural pride, and a deep sense of belonging.
The 70th Anniversary Speech and Prize Giving Day was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to North Vista Secondary School’s enduring legacy and the strength of its community.
